[Well, that could have been the beginnings of an argument over a simple misunderstanding, but thankfully it's not. It feels to her like it's resolved the moment she says what she says and Daryl's eyes drop. She lets him have a moment to process, likewise letting herself have a moment to think as well. (Her intention was not to get a bad reaction or make this anymore awkward than it was, after all. Thus she needed to figure out how to explain this without anymore misunderstandings.)

The answer to what he would asked was simple, though.]

Soap has more practical use than rocks.

Well, that is the point of them, isn't it. Use them however you want.

[Her expression becomes something if not lightly puzzled, because he's got her there.]

Not really, no.

[Stop with the teasing tone. It's making her more feel embarrassed. On the inside. Somehow. Enid keeps cool, though. Careful of her words this time even.]

[Enid's lips tugged down at the corners in a mild (yet non-affended) disapproving look to his amusement when Daryl snorted, but she was quick to forgive him seeing that he tucked the gift away. That was a good as accepting it, in their shared quiet way. Which was all she had hoped for to begin with.

But with that out of the way, she feels somewhat like she relax a little again and takes him up on his gesture to the free couch space, plopping gently just right beside him. Her side-ways glance falls on him. It was a little weird sitting here like this, so she spoke up first.]

So. You waiting for Rick?

Cool.

[In a way, she sounds glad that he worked it out and was back after the weirdness with Rick. It certainly helped her decide things were going back to normal anyway. As for the example Daryl was currently setting on making oneself comfortable, she was fine with not copying it and sitting as she already was. Except, for maybe how, her legs stretched out so her feet slid under the coffee table. Their understanding of quieter talk was good.]

Be weird if you didn't come back here.

[And if you put her words together, all of which is another way to say I see and Glad you're back.]

[Funny. She had done that once too. Leave. She exhales a tiny bit amused at that shared experience.]

Me too. I left once. Didn't get very far before- [well] it was weird.

Yeah.

[She's not sure what time frame he's from, now that she thinks about it, but after a long pause she goes a head and shares when it was anyway:]

When those people attacked.

[Was it? Well, that at least that answers what she had been been wondering a moment ago. Enid hums in acknowledgement.]

You have something to look forward to then. [Said with dry sarcasm.]

[That sound of Daryl's snort was almost convincing, but fortunately for Enid she did have a way to read his emotions that hinted to her that he was not actually amused. She didn't comment on it though. Just raised an eyebrow while looking over at him.]

Yeah. It was when you were drawing off the herd.

[Him trailing off makes her feel a little suspicious of what he was about to say, but she went back to Alexandria and saw what happened with the herd they supposedly were leading away, and putting two and two together, she can only guess that is what he won't say. Doesn't blame him, really. No one could fault his group for trying and failing to lead the away.]

The same one. It was just before that. I came back with Glenn when the walkers were inside the walls... Then we took care of it. A month went by.

[There is the briefest of pauses before she answers, because honestly? She wasn't there to see exactly how it transitioned from the attack to the walkers inside the walls. The details of the event weren't forthcoming from anyone after the fact and she never really did ask either because of the unspoken rule not to talk about a lot of things.

It makes sense that noise would be what caused it, so it's easy to conclude the events are one of the same. And so she nods, with an outward sigh.]

Probably. I don't really know who attacked us or how the walkers got in or who was responsible for the horn.

[Her lip tugs to one side, creating an a sort of uncertain expression, when those words come out of Daryl's mouth.]

I don't know if Carl knows anything. And to be honest, I don't believe what's going on with Rick has anything to do with that attack.

It's something else.

[The Saviors. Those two words are on the tip of her tongue but saying them would only make them more real for her here too. She could only hope things were okay at home.]

[Of course she wasn't saying everything - she didn't know the whole of it yet. Just the Saviors, readying to take Maggie to Hilltop for a doctor, and then being tricked into and locked in a closet. Enid adverts her eyes at his stare.]

No... I don't know. Whatever it is happened after I was pulled here. [Again, technically.]
