Oh no. Not me. But I do happen to be endorsing one of the candidates who are running, so I believed I would reach out on his behalf. Are you familiar with Sam Merlotte?
He didn't ask, but I offered to speak to others on his behalf.
[ Hey, he endorsed Lucy, too. He might be shady, but that doesn't mean those he endorses are! ]
But since you know him already, I don't think I need to sell his good qualities to you. I believe of all the candidates, he is the only one who is truly down to earth enough to represent all sides of the imPort population. De Chima needs someone modern yet humble -- someone who can keep up with the modern technology, but won't become consumed by it.
Which does lead me to ask, what is it you need, Mr. Dixon?
[ He could be asking Daryl's beliefs. He could also be opening up a bribe. That all depends on how Daryl answers. ]
What I mean to say is that he falls right in the middle. There is one side of the spectrum offering to build Artificial Intelligence or other high tech advancements and there are those who come from a world with no technology. Sam seems to be the only candidate who lies neatly between there and to that extent, he can represent most of the imPorts in general.
[ His tone becomes rather noncommital. ]
As for what you need, I cannot claim to know. For as much as I sometimes wish it were, mindreading is not one of my porter given abilities.
[He wasn't sure what half the offered 'I'll do this if you elect me!' things were supposed to really help. Not in the long run. In the short run it was pretty gimmicky. At least the people with no familiarity with the current tech weren't trying to be flashy about how much more advanced they could try to make things. De Chima really didn't need all that, though he wouldn't be surprised if people calling it home thought it did.]
You lookin' to get a promise from me for a vote, or me to start talkin' him up to other people?
I'm looking to get you out to the polls. And I'm hoping that you would consider voting for Sam. That is your decision to make in the long run, but the most important thing is that as many imPorts as possible do vote this time around.
And if you wanted to endorse him to others, well then, for that I could offer you a generous compensation -- since you would be working on behalf of his campaign, and I have taken it upon myself to aid him in such.
[No one had ever tried to pay him to do volunteer work before. Back home, back before, it'd always been the 'virtue of helping spread the word about the right man for the job' being the reward one needed for dolling out buttons and flyers. The bright-eyed kids wanting to make a difference being suckered into hours of promotion work for no pay. Interns or some shit like that. Make a fool of yourself for nothing. This was more interesting.]
Oh yeah? What kind of compensation? Money? The joy of helpin' a fine citizen? Somethin' else?
Monetary compensation. I own a rather lucrative business, manage another and serve as the ambassador of Maurtia Falls. I do have quite a bit to spare.
All I would need is for you to decide which is the more lucrative option -- $100 per hours worked or $1000 per imPort you successfully convince to vote for Merlotte.
[ Petyr Baelish pays and he pays well if Daryl needs himself a sugar daddy. ]
[ So he says. He could be bluffing. He could be telling the truth. ]
But even should those prospective voters ultimately vote for someone else when they get to the polls, if they confirm to you and say they will vote for Sam, I would pay you in full. And you could, of course, start with an easy $1000 by convincing yourself to vote for Sam.
[Oh. That was definitely a bribe right there. Couched in the promises of a semi-legitimate pay-scheme. But definitely running right through 'bribe' territory.]

[Only talked to him a couple times, but he'd left a decent impression. At least up until now.]
He asked you to talk to me?

What is you think I need?
LOL it's okay! I didn't realize you had until I sent it. But it was easily fixed, haha

Sounds like that'd be easy to claim otherwise on.
