Location
It sits a little under two miles below the tops of the Great Smoky Mountains just inside the Tennessee border, which puts it about a 1/2 mile below sea level. It's directly under a small national park/forest so there's little risk of developers coming along and draining the water system it's water system is hooked up to.
Main Entrance
The main entrance is through the basement of Daryl's Hunting Lodge. A property he purchased and built an actual short season hunting lodge on. The basement is double walled - on the record it was done for natural insulation that would keep the area at a cool 65-68 degrees year round without the use of electricity - but also prevents the easy detection of the first secret door via knocking to find a difference in tones. The second secret door is the one that leads to The Tombs.
The Tombs
The Tombs is the stairway down to The Hole and the maze of tunnels it's a part of, all carved courtesy of Persephone and then covered in two inches of concrete to maintain the structure more than it is to support it since Persephone does fine work. The only correct way to the Real Entrance of The Hole is to take a left at every third landing. There are seven False Entrances that look exactly the same as the Real Entrance but lead no where, or deeper into The Tombs. In the event of an emergency invasion, The Tombs can be flooded via eight pipes that connect to the natural underground waterways Daryl picked to build under and around. Draining The Tombs would take time, but unless an invader can breath water, they'll have a hell of a time surviving the experience.
Accommodations/Internal Security
The Hole itself is a bunker built for survival, not comfort. It's main structure has concrete walls four feet thick on the outside and one foot on the inside, with metal supports throughout. Power is gotten from the underground water system via waterwheel generated electricity. There is no wifi, all lines and electronics are hardwired only. Daylight lamps are available over a few large planters in case they have to go to ground and grow their own food for a while. Every door is a security style door like those found in submarines (in case of flood) and can only be locked from the 'inside', forcing every inch of ground gained by potential invaders to be very hard earned. Basically, the entire security system is based on paranoia rather than heavy weaponry or tech. The Emergency Exit in the base of the bunker connects to an old collapsed mine that comes out eight miles east on the Carolina side of the border. It is not safe in any way to try and get through and is not a direct shot to The Hole. Size wise, it can hold about 60 average humans comfortably, and between 120-150 uncomfortably via hot-bunking and bed share if it comes down to it.
Alternate Entrances
Alternate ways in are through one of Midnighter's Doors - which was how the materials for building and the native build crew were brought through on a weekly basis so none of them know where it's actually located.
